Six depots between Brisbane and Sydney, and why that matters to your freight
What a depot every few hundred kilometres actually does
Breakdowns stop being disasters. A truck goes down outside Kempsey and the nearest help is a Sydney workshop seven hours away. That’s a day of freight sitting on the highway. For us it’s Port Macquarie or Taree, close enough to get gear moving again the same day.
Changeovers happen where they should. When a trailer can be handed over mid corridor instead of one driver running the entire distance, the freight keeps moving and the driver goes home. Better for the load, considerably better for the person driving.
Weather has a plan B. The Pacific Highway corridor floods. Anyone who’s moved freight through northern NSW in the last few years knows exactly which stretches. Having physical sites and people either side of the usual trouble spots means we’re rerouting from somewhere, not just watching from Sydney.
Regional pickups aren’t an afterthought. If your freight originates in Grafton or Taree, you’re not paying for a truck to drive up empty from a capital city to get it. We’re already there.
Regional NSW isn't a detour for us. It's where we're from
This company started in 1973 with one truck moving timber around regional New South Wales. Everything since has been built outward from that. The depot network isn’t a corporate expansion plan someone drew on a map, it’s fifty two years of putting yards where the work actually was.
That’s why the Mid North Coast and the Northern Rivers are covered properly rather than serviced reluctantly.
The freight we move down it
The corridor carries our full range: interstate linehaul, general freight for palletised, retail and industrial cargo, temperature controlled work for food and pharmaceuticals, and high capacity B-double linehaul.
Refrigerated is where the network really earns its keep. Cold chain doesn’t forgive delay. A reefer stuck mid corridor with no depot within reach is a claim waiting to be written. Ours is never more than a couple of hours from somewhere we own.
The scale behind it
Six depots. 280 prime movers. More than 400 trailers. 650 people. NHVAS accredited, and we’ve hauled for Woolworths for over thirty years, which is not a relationship you keep by being late.
